Ready for Summer...

Well, after a lot of talk and a bit of saving, Jamie has finally got his bbq!
We borrowed my Dad and his truck to pick it up on Saturday. He and Jamie went right to work to put it together. After firing it up, they had a much needed break and a couple of beers.

Breaks over, time for dinner.

Hamburgers and hotdogs were on the menu. It was the perfect bbq weather, about 80 F or 26 C! We stayed outside, ate and talked till about 8 pm and I only needed a small sweater in the evening. So we have our patio set, the bbq is ready and we now have 2 hummingbirds fighting over our feeder.

Summer can now begin...

Happy Easter!

Ok, so it's a few days late but this week has been really busy. Saturday we spent the day mostly around the house. Jamie finally got that last palm out. The roots were massive and without having to cut it up into peices he wouldn't have been able to lift it alone. But now that it's gone, he has no more roots to dig out! A huge accomplishment and a major relief for Jamie. We've slowly started planting different things in the garden and we have bought patio furniture. This weekend Jamie will probably buy his BBQ. It's suppose to be a hot weekend too, so we should be able to christen it and enjoy being outside.
Sunday was Easter and my wonderful Husband humored (a.k.a. humoured) me (once again) by coloring (a.k.a. colouring) eggs. I can exlpore my artistic side and yet I'm always reminded of how much natural artistic ablitity I am lacking. But I enjoyed it none the less and I even got Jamie a Star Wars egg kit as demonstrated in the picture to the right =>
We had Easter dinner at my parents house that afternoon. A Hawaiian themed easter with Kalua Pork, Paniolo Steak, tropical salad, Hawaiian bread and enough desert to feed twice as many people as were there. It was pretty amazing. Well, that's about all the news I have. I will leave you with a picture of Jamie enjoying the patio furniture.

Fred's Adventure

Fred is the newest addition to the Griffin Family in Orange County, California. After a 12 hour flight from Yorkshire (via the Royal Mail) he arrived safe & sound in sunny California.
